Yarn: Knit Picks Swish DK in Lemongrass Heather
Needles: 6.00mm circulars
Ravelry: Louisa's Camilla Kid
Here's yet another Knit Picks Swish make. I've already made a baby sweater and a baby blanket with this yarn, and it's so squishy and soft and stretchy (and absolutely reasonably priced) that it's perfect for kid stuff.
I used 154g of this to make Louisa a Camilla Kid. I really like this sweater, and I really like how it turned out. I wish I had better photos of Louisa wearing it, since it wears very well (the fan pattern stretches over her little belly and really opens up the pattern) and the sleeve length is super cute (just a bit longer than 3/4 sleeve, but not quite full length).
Here's her big brother posing right along side her. #BFFs
Also, because it's garter stitch, it's not such a tight weave, which is good because both my children are pretty warm-blooded and tend to get overhot quite easily.
I did have to modify the sweater a bit, and my notes are on my ravelry page. Basically the biggest change is that my gauge was 15.5 sts per 4", as opposed to the 14 sts per 4" called for in the pattern, so I just followed the size 6 to get a size 4 garment. I also added one more pattern repeat to the body before attaching the arms, and I'm glad I did because it would have been too short for her otherwise.
So actually I'm pretty pleased to have made some size adjustments that worked out quite well. Maybe I'm getting the hang of this after all??
Louisa wore this sweater to daycare this week, as the weather has finally shifted from a gloriously warm end of summer to a chilly October. I wish winter wasn't coming, but that's the way it is around here...
